Do you win? Of course, just ask Kate or Jim!
Well done to Kate Muir! A bar staff worker from Stirling in sunny Scotland. She needed a draw to win the full £1 million but it didnt come in, so she picked up £52,000 on the Football Jackpot instead. She got 13 correct results, all from a £1 lucky dip!
Jim Wyatt, a 54 year old married man from Hereford, has won £71,037.40 for just a £1 bet on the football Jackpot from Coral. He correctly predicted the results of thirteen football matches.
The first twelve matches took place over Saturday and Sunday, and the final match to determine whether his bet would win took place on the Tuesday with Jim needing Preston to beat Oldham for his bet to be successful. Preston went two goals ahead but then Oldham pulled one goal back with minutes to play. However Preston held on for a 2 v 1 win that saw Wyatt claim the Football Jackpot. Well done Jim!

Coral Launch Ground-Breaking Win a Million Football Jackpot
This Saturday, leading bookmaker Coral will break new ground with the launch of “Football Jackpot”, a unique pool bet that will give customers the chance to become an instant millionaire for just a £1 stake. Football Jackpot will run every weekend throughout the 2013/14 football season and will be supported by a seven figure advertising campaign across broadcast and print.
Coral customers can place their Football Jackpot bets via coupons available in Coral’s 1800 shops, or online at coral.co.uk or via Coral’s mobile app. The mechanics are simple: Each week the Football Jackpot coupon will contain 15 football matches and customers will be asked to predict either a home win, draw or away win for just a £1 stake. The first sole winner of Football Jackpot is guaranteed by Coral to win £1million, and there are also consolation prizes for customers who narrowly miss out. Customers who correctly predict 13 or 14 results will receive a consolation cash payment and depending on the size of the pool and the number of consolation winners even this could run into tens of thousands of pounds. Customers also have the flexibility of either choosing a lucky dip or making their own selections.
Simon Clare, PR Director of Coral comments, “This is an historic day as we are the first British bookmaker on the high street to ever offer our own “football pool bet” and one with the potential to create millionaires.”
Clare continues, “We are confident Football Jackpot will become a huge success and are investing a seven figure sum to launch and promote this exciting new bet on TV and in print advertising over the coming weeks and months. Football has a huge and growing following in Britain and by offering football fans a simple, Lottery-style, ‘small-stake big-win’ product we hope to attract thousands of new customers to our shops and online, as well as giving existing football punters a new and fun betting opportunity to try and win a life-changing sum of money”
The first match on the coupon will be at 3pm Saturday 17th August with the final game being the Monday night Premier League fixture on 19th August between Manchester City and Newcastle United.
Clare adds, “The beauty of the Football Jackpot is that we will always know going into the last game every Monday or Sunday whether we have a customer in with a chance of becoming a millionaire and what results they need, enabling us to promote the thrill and excitement of the bet as it happens through social media and CoralTV in Coral betting shops”
The Football Jackpot win pool will rollover if there is no winner, and Coral predicts that there will be occasions during the season where customers will be in with a chance of winning well in excess of £1m.
To support the launch of Football Jackpot, DLKW Lowe have produced a 20 second TV advert with the simple message that you can “win a million”. The first advert will appear on Saturday 10 th August just before 8pm on Sky Sports 1 and the first ITV ad will appear during the Community Shield highlights the following day. Ads have been booked across all of the main channels (ITV1, ITV4, Sky Sports News, Sky Sports, Film 4 and Comedy Central) for eight weeks.
There will also be a partnership with The Sun launching on August 10 th and will feature the punditry expertise of Terry Venables for the first seven weeks. The Football Jackpot coupon will also be inserted in The Sun, The Daily Star, The Express, The Mirror and The Daily Record as well as additional activity within a selection of these titles.
