Altior has suffered a fitness scare in preparation for the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham on Wednesday.
The eight-year-old is hot favourite for the two-mile championship, but has developed lameness in a leg. Despite this Altior remains fairly steady in the betting odds at 6/4 (2.50) favourite on Betfair.
Trainer Nicky Henderson said he will have a better idea of whether or not he runs at Cheltenham on Tuesday morning.
Altior is unbeaten in seven starts over fences and is due to face Willie Mullins’ Douvan in the feature race on day two of the The Festival.
Henderson’s star has missed most of the season after undergoing wind surgery in November but made a winning return to action in the Game Spirit Chase at Newbury last month.
There are plenty of bookmaker’s offers going around at the moment for The Festival. If you fancy Buveur D’Air to win the Champion Hurdle and Altior to win the Champion Chase you can get odds of 14/1 with 888sport. Just follow this link 888sport offer
